OGUN STATE – More than 300 vulnerable residents are receiving free surgical procedures through the Ogun State Free Surgical Outreach 2026, a humanitarian healthcare initiative bringing specialist medical services to those who might otherwise be unable to access them.
The outreach is being delivered by a team of volunteer medical professionals from the United States of America, working alongside Nigerian healthcare personnel to provide life-changing surgeries and compassionate care.
Leading the medical mission is Dr. Musbau Kasumu, whose team of doctors, nurses and volunteers has been commended for their dedication to restoring health and hope to hundreds of beneficiaries across the state.
The outreach also received a morale-boosting visit from Chief S. Adegbuwa, who met with the medical team to express appreciation for their commitment to improving the lives of underserved communities.
Organisers acknowledged the support of Her Excellency, Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun, First Lady of Ogun State and Founder of the Ajose Foundation, for her continued advocacy for accessible healthcare. They also recognised Mrs. Temitope Adeola Yayi, incoming First Lady of Ogun State, for her support of initiatives aimed at improving the wellbeing of residents.
The free surgical outreach reflects the growing impact of partnerships between healthcare professionals, volunteers and public leaders in expanding access to essential medical services, particularly for vulnerable members of society.
As the programme continues, hundreds of patients are expected to return home with renewed health, restored confidence and a fresh opportunity to improve their quality of life.
